Herr, M.D. Biography
Dr. Herr is a board certified Ophthalmologist. After
completing his undergraduate degree at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, he
returned to Baltimore to receive his
medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Staying in Baltimore, his post graduate training started as an intern at
Maryland General Hospital. In 1989, he then completed his 3 year residency
in Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland Medical System in downtown
Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Herr is a native Baltimorean. He became Board Certified by the
American Board of Ophthalmology in November 1991. He has hospital privileges at
North Arundel Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Union Memorial Hospital. He
performs the majority of his cataract surgery at the on-site surgery center at
his office in the Baltimore-Washington Eye Center in Glen Burnie.
He served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at the
Baltimore-Washington Medical Center from 1998-2007. He has also served as the team ophthalmologist to the
Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League for the past 15 seasons.
